Spent the weekend having too much fun with our friends from Bakersfield. Jeannette and I have grown up together since we were TINY. I HAVE to tell you guys a story about the two of us but I actually need to spend some time writing it and I've been playing instead. (I'll do it later this week.) So, in the meantime, here's another Tim Hawkins clip. He was homeschooled his whole life and WE are homeschoolers so, we've both earned the right to poke fun at ourselves. Enjoy! (It's very short and the guy that plays the dad IS Tim. :) ) This is also what much of the world thinks we do and are, which I find almost funnier than the video!
That's AWESOME! And so true....for some reason a lot of people think that every homeschooling family is like the Duggars and raising a bunch of Doogie Housers. Even my parents think that way and they should know better-they raised me after all!
ReplyDeleteThat is just the coolest video. I LOVED it. Thanks for sharing. Do they also have a blog? What a delightful family.
ReplyDeleteGreat video Robynn...we have one family in my area that home schools their stepping stone children and I know many people think of them as unusual...which happens when people don't understand or know the situation!!
ReplyDeleteCheers
Hilarious!! Spot on isn't it for the stereotypes so many subscribe to :) Thanks for a good chuckle today!!
ReplyDeleteThat was funny and, yup, with the stereotypes -though, from what I HEAR, some are spot on. Would LOVE to see the Redwoods someday. So, if/when we look to head west, I'll be looking you up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh ...
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! You'll need to have lots more kids though to 'fit in'... ;-)
ReplyDeleteHow creative! That is too cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that video. :-)
ReplyDeleteHow funny! enJOY your day!
ReplyDeleteYou mean that isn't really the way it is. Who knew?
ReplyDeleteThat was priceless ... thank you once again, Robynn, for my Chuckles du jour. Did you see Bz's birthday tribute yesterday on my blog?
ReplyDeleteHa ... word verification is S U G E R
is that how 'home schooled' spell sugar?
Thank you so much for your kind and caring words on my blog for Bz. I hope we DO get together sometime ... Lord, can you imagine the energy we'd produce... California and/or Texas wouldn't need any oil for months!!! I'm thinking 'wind' power here. You are a special lady, thank you for your humor, your wisdom, your compassion, your God-given talent. Hugs, Sandy
ReplyDeleteHahaha!! I love love love that!
ReplyDeleteMy husband was homeschooled all the way through graduation, and I love to tease him about it. :) Any time he makes a dumb mistake or doesn't know something I say, "Dang home schoolin'".
And then when *I* make a dumb mistake or don't know something, it's, "Dang public schoolin'."
Dang it. my computer wouldn't open the video. Do you have a link I could follow? No hurry...I'll just hover by the computer and wait. With snacks. And coffee.....
ReplyDeleteThat is funny. I want to homeschool my children and still doesn't matter what category they put us in :) but that video is funny lol
ReplyDeleteCute and funny video. My sister is a homeschool mom also--as are many of my friends! As far as I'm concerned, homeschoolers rock! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the warm comments that made me feel so good inside! I have the highest respect for you as a Christian sister and home school er mom. You and your family will reap huge rewards now and in heaven.
ReplyDeleteMay I have your email address for ask some questions about the state of CA cash problems, etc. We are over taxed in WI... lol.

Jesus is Lord.
We've homeschooled at various times. My son just married a delightful young lady who was homeschooled all the way through. I have so loved the homeschool graduates who have been in my composition classes at the university. They are refreshingly eager to learn!
ReplyDeletewhat a great video! I want to know if those kids all belong to them. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an awsome video. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!

That guy cracks me up!!! Looking forward to your story. BTW, I DID go to the chiropractor GUY yesterday, the first headache-free day I've had in awhile, and he confirmed everything you said and adjusted everything he could. Aaaand... today my head has been killing me!! Go figure. I guess my body was getting used to being out of whack!
ReplyDeleteI love that video! We are definitely just as weird. We homeschool, our kids don't date. . .
