A certain person in my life, known as The Wild Man, is turning 14 today.
He is one of the incredible lights of my life. My sunny son. My "point and drive" buddy. (I should post about this - so much fun we've had.) He's a feeler of feelings - you never wonder where you stand. He's a comedian, one-liner delivery man, looks at you and always SEES you. Gives incredibly specific compliments. You never hear just a, "You look nice" from him. It will be tailored to you. He's a chatter box with a million thoughts.
He's the boy I thought was a daughter when I was pregnant. God knew what he was doing! He showed me about men and boys through this wonderful son of mine. I had never known what a healthy, loving, caring male was like from the ground up. He taught me and opened by eyes, and heart, to many more. He loved with beauty and innocence.
Oh, boy of my heart. Happy Birthday. I love you so very much. I could never have imagined all you would bring. God bless your year. You have blessed my life.
What loving things you said about your son! He sounds wonderful! I have 2 sons, day & night, and I love them dearly for their differences!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Wildman!
Happy Birthday Wildman!! Robbyn, that brought tears to my eyes in a really good way. Very touching. I hope to one day be able to say some of those very things about my own two little wild ones :)
ReplyDeleteOh! What a sweet 'letter' to your son on his birthday! I daresay that is the best one I've ever read. He sounds like a way cool kid! I love the 'point and drive' thing--you knew I would! :-) Happy B-day greetings Mr. Wildman, from the Pacific NW!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - I love Wild Men!
ReplyDeleteHope your birthday is a happy one.
Sending you wishes for a wonderful day, week, month, year - LIFE!
What a very sweet birthday card. And you have a handsome son who sounds like he's a nice guy to boot. Birthday blessings, Wildman!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday wildman! You give me hope that the boys of the future will be feelers and snugglers.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday WM!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Wildman!
ReplyDeleteOh Robynn, this had me reaching for the tissues! It's hard to see them grow up, but oh the blessings!!
Tell me, does he like to wear stretchy pants?
Happy birthday Wild Man!
ReplyDeleteRobynn,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blog B-day post for your son! He is very handsome and has a beautiful smile. The girl that gets him is going to be a lucky gal! I love a guy that can make me laugh. My husband makes me laugh everyday!
Happy 14th Birthday Wild Man!
What a wonderful post....love how you described your son! Happy Birthday to The Wild Man! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice post about your son. Loved how you were so specific with your thoughts ...hmmm, maybe he gets that FROM you. :-) He sounds like he will make some lucky girl a nice husband someday... probably something you're not wanting to think about right now ...and I just realized it right AS I typed it... it's true though (about him making a good husband).
ReplyDeleteANYway, what nice thoughts put into words.
After all, written words last [ :-) ] ...maybe your grandkids will see this someday... or GREAT grandkids.
If so, would be neat, cause they'll get to see how neat you are.
He's a gift that keeps on giving. You are blessed! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteOh Happy, Happy Birthday Wild Man! Just think...you are 2 years away from being able to drive that Jeep o the median yourself. 4 Years away from voting. I bet that just made your Mom's day. I like to make other peoples day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to the Wild Man! You both sound blessed to have each other. It's a rare thing to raise a respectful, caring man. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteA special "happy birthday" wish to your Wild Man! What a beautiful tribute.
ReplyDeleteRobynn, You're amazing! You are not only a beautiful writer, but you are prolific...I'm going to search your archives to see if you have a blog about how to juggle everything...homeschooling, church, family, husband, blogging...looking at your work, I think I need some big time help:-) I'm a weekend blogger...need to learn your secrets :-) Happy birthday to your fantastic wild man! And blessings to his really FUN mom!
ReplyDeleteoh to be 14 agian! I would love that carefree feeling back! isn't life grand?
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you all what a kick The Wild Man has gotten out of seeing all these lovely greetings coming in from, literally, all over the world!! What a fun present you created for him.
ReplyDeleteHe and I managed to have lunch with just the two of us at one of our favorite places. We played hangman - which is something we ALWAYS do when waiting - no one in the fam can stop with the WORDS for Pete's sake - and I gave him feet and hands and eyeballs on his hangman so he wouldn't actually lose on his birthday. Only a mother.
Anyway, thanks again and yes, he will make someone a wonderful husband (if I do say so myself and I DO! lol), and he is NEVER getting his driver's license!!!! Not with hairbrained ideas like that. I mean, I've really only done that twice........
Happy Birthday to the Wild Man!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Robynn, you gifted him when you wrote so beautifully about your boy. We just climbed on the train and tooted the horn.
Helen
I have to throw in my birthday wishes too

ReplyDeleteHow very sweet! Happy birthday to your adorable son!
ReplyDeleteYour words are so beautifully written, you can just feel the fun and the love! And a wonderful happy birthday to Wild Man!
ReplyDeleteOh Robynn! You will never know how much better I feel knowing that yoor daughter went through the same eye surgery as Delaney and is doing so much better now! It really does help to know that someone I know has been there and done that. I have been so worried about Delaney's eyes. What a relief to see that Hannah is doing so well with her eyes now. It really gives me hope for Laney. Thank you. Any details you can offer about the surgery would be wonderful. Thanks for helping to put my mind at ease. Bless you dear friend!
ReplyDeleteYou have one terrific son, Robynn! Happy Birthday, Wild Man!!
ReplyDeleteHappy, Belated Birthday, Wildman! Your mama is very blessed to have a son like you.
ReplyDeleteSorry for being late to your party, but wouldn't you know it(!) the day I don't have time to read my favorite blogs, is the day everyone decides to post! So today I'm playing catch-up.
