Well, in reality your loins are probably safe. But I insist on raging and waging war for a bit so it seemed only polite for me to ask you to consider your very state of being when encountering a brawling woman. (And I simply must state for the record that Lucy Lawless aka "Xena Warrior Princess" looks incredibly like me, don't you think? Especially the diminutive waist and chiseled features. Yes, we were separated at birth....they gave her the "fabulous" cells and entrusted me with the "fat" cells. I am faithfully caring for them.)
But really, that's beside the point because I have a leonine femur to pick with you, Blogger.com. Why do you fail to notify me of new blog posts on the blogs I follow? You send me some and not others. And this is random. So I never know which blog I should be backtracking to see what's been missed. And I am absent in the face of vital information. Or those I follow think I am ignoring them. Or their scintillating writing, or photography, or witticism, is not celebrated by me in the way it should be. And they wonder where I am. And surely my comments are vital to their very well-being. And I sound like a slacker when I blame it on YOU. So do tell.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem and is there anything to be done about it?
Just know that if I'm not there at your blog it will be Blogger/Blogspot's fault. And no matter what, that will always be my default of choice. And most of the time, it will even be true.....!
P.S. My other beef - My comments don't always go through on websites or blogs where I have to enter my name, email, URL, birth weight, number of teeth, date of worst hair cut, and how often I shave my legs. After entering all of this and then leaving a profound comment, it is disheartening to see it disappear and never register. Any insights on that? Attn: Life on a Colorado Farm......this is happening now at your site. And the blog party - 50 comments on different sites simply gone. So, you techy types who are laughing right now - DO DISH! FIX ME! HELP ME! I need to be saved from myself.
Haven't noticed any trouble yet, but I have had the problem of signing up to follow other bloggers, and not having it show up on my dashboard, etc...blogger glitches, to be sure....Love the photo...strong resemblance!;-) Off to soccer for my afternoon shrieks...will try to remember my camera...Love you, my conscientious friend!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a way with words! ;-Þ
ReplyDeleteI can't really say if I'm having that problemw with Blogger or not, since I don't depend on them for my notifications. I have subscribed to all my favorite blog feeds in Google Reader. It's been a very faithful friend, always notifying me immediately who's posted, even letting me categorize each blog. I love it!
Aye, yi, yi,.... (that's Xena doing a flip and flinging her chockra at blogger for leaving you in the dark!) I didn't know that there was a chance we weren't getting our notices,... now I'm wondering how many I'm missing too!
ReplyDeleteYup yup yup ! The same thing is happening here, so I've started using my homepage as my ermmmm, homepage, rather than using the dashboard. You weren't in my reading list (the updated ones) but when I switched to the "view blog option", you were right there!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I just click on the individual blogs in my reading list, but that can be pretty tedious if I come across someone who hasn't posted in a week... I keep reading the same stuff!
"Do you remember when everyone was shouting my name, and I used my strength to rip my blouse?"
Maybe you should rip yours, in protest?
I do notice, but more of a problem with me is leaving comments. I type out something near and dear to my heart(well, something nice and quick, times a ticking) then it comes up duplicate error or something like that.
ReplyDeleteI do notice you two look amazingly similar! I guess you'd have to wear one of her getting about suits, to really see it though. lol...
by the way..the apron is headed that way, without me and Jack.
Have a great day.
Pam
I started out on blogger...and after several "issues" I left. I just packed my bags and headed out the door. I didn't even say goodbye.
ReplyDeleteXena, er, Robynn, no problems on my end but in all fairness I've been up to my eyeballs in alligators with work and might be missing something. As usual.
ReplyDeleteGive em heck, girl!! I thought it was just me!
ReplyDeleteHa ... Xena... my husband thinks she is a looker. And yeah, she is. You are so lucky to have shared cells with her. I'm sure she doesn't have your magnanimous charm with words though.
ReplyDeleteWell, I definetly see the resemblence between you and Xena! I haven't noticed any problems with my blogger stuff yet, but then again, I'm just starting to subscribe to other blogs.
ReplyDeleteWell, you get what you pay for. ;)
ReplyDeleteBTW, you have my "landing page" marked instead of my blog which is why you see no updates.

Oh I just cant bear it when I leave Extremely Profound Comment, and spend hours filling in all the URL what nots and malarkeys... and comment disappears into the ether... maddening. Great Pic! XX
ReplyDeleteOooooooooooooooh, maybe I better start checking my Google Reader every day. Heaven's I may have missed dozens of posts, and didn't even know it!
ReplyDeleteGeesh one more thing to keep me awake at night;(
yep...i think i've been having some issues too. noticed i've missed some blog posts... GRRR!!
ReplyDeleteThat Xena looks like your older sister! But I like her duds. Glad you found my missing posts. Always love to have you visit! My verification word is heerstog - another word for Xena's breastplate.
ReplyDeleteI'm either confuzzled or unobservant :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you get fixed soon....wait did that come out right? :)
Oh dear, Robynn...I have never experienced either of the troubles you described with Blogger. (Just a thought though...could it be possible that your comments "disappear" because they are written on blogs that have "comment moderation" enabled? In which case, they do not show up until AFTER the blog author has reviewed them and approved them?)
ReplyDelete(One other quick thought...come to think of it, I HAVE noticed (a long time back) that if I add someone's blog URL to my blog list in my side-bar and THEN (secondly) sign up to "follow" them (thus automatically getting them listed on my profile page as a blog I follow), it messes up the entry in my blog's SIDE-BAR, which no longer will update with each new post UNLESS, I go back to my side-bar and "edit" it (just open the edit section up and then "save" what is already there). THAT fixes the update snag in my side-bar on my actual blog page. Maybe THAT is the snag you are experiencing? If so, it is a quick and easy fix! Nowadays I just avoid that problem by only adding URL's to my blog list on my blog site AFTER I've already clicked on the "follow this blog" button.)
I haven't had any trouble, Robynn. How frustrating for you! Don't the blogger folks know you are one of our favorites and we won't stand for this!!??!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're having troubles -- I think there is a solution out there!!!! Just don't ask me what it is!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! Especially the part about the date of haircut, shaving legs, etc. I am no help to you in the tech dept, but glad you found humor in the frustration!
ReplyDeleteXena. Robynn. Robynn. Xena. Identical. And the fat cell line...a complete fabrication!
ReplyDeleteI KNOW that you have been having trouble commenting on my blog, but I don't know why. : (
I left blogger about a month ago and I really don't have any complaints...except that you are having trouble commenting!!
Oh my gosh, I'm still laughing over the "number of teeth, date of last bad hair cut" bit! Ha! I experience problems with notifications all the time! Then I sign in and realize multiple posts have gone by without my noticing! I also get the occasional message that informs me that "You are not following any blogs." Wha??? Yes, yes I am!!! And you totally rock as Xena! :-)
ReplyDeletePoor you! I believe everyone should take off word verification too as it takes so long to leave a comment sometimes when Blogger eats it up.
ReplyDeleteI use Wordpress and it seems to run much better...
And yes - I can see that you and Xena are twins! Lucky her...
I haven't had any trouble recently but for a while blogger was having problems almost every day and I was hearing people couldn't leave comments.
ReplyDeleteComments to me are the reason for blogging so I sure would miss yours.
I did take off all the spam filters and the word verification as well to make life easier for people and so far, no spam at all.
Ahhh, even in such tragic times you are the witty one! Yes, my google reader does the same, leaving me with egg on my face when I have totally missed earth-shattering news when my reader fails to register an update! Or, when comments go into oblivion instead of their intended destination. You are NOT ALONE! Yea for great rants!!
ReplyDeleteI have not had this problem.
ReplyDeleteI don't have an answer but I feel your pain! Just this morning I wrote a comment on another blog and then it erased it. So frustrating!!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE you guys! I AM NOT ALONE! At least I know it's not just me.
ReplyDeleteA.N.D.....THANK YOU for all those comments favoring me over Xena. (Poor Xena - she just doesn't know the ferocity of YOU warriors!) This blogging thing is almost as good as MOTHERhood. The pay is horrendous but the benefits are over-the-top!!
And thanks for all the good suggestions. I will follow up and see if I can fix anything other than my attitude which keeps giving me the "fatal error" code.
Hope you enjoy your waffles!
ReplyDeleteI wait each and every day for your comments. Hours upon hours I sit refreshing my browser just hoping you will pop up. The agony that blogger has put me thru by not updating you with my posts in a timely manner is insurmountable (sp? stick with me here). Can we file a civil suit or something?
ReplyDeleteHere's my two cents worth. Some of the blogs may be on WordPress or one of the other blog formats out there and while you can 'follow' it, I am not sure it updates properly ... I now have both a blog roll and a following list ... and it would be nice to have the time to read BOTH lists daily ... I try ... Husband is always saying 'you are so trying' ..
ReplyDeleteIt's close to midnight and I haven't gotten around to commenting on all the blogger friends that have visited me today, I think I'll have to check that reader tomorrow or something!
ReplyDeleteCommenting on wordpress blogs is even worse if you want my opinion!
So, Robynn...why don't YOU become the new CEO for Blogger? Set them straight and lay down the law! Hire your sister Xena to help!
