I Can See for Miles And Miles

(And you thought YOU had a bad job. How would you like to have been a fleet enema character at the Indiana State Fair last year? And I don't know what his date here is supposed to be and I have no desire to know. This is a field trip we won't be going on soon.)

As far as my actual results I got the "all clear" on the colonoscopy which, really, how could it be anything else after the 55 gallon drum of Movi-Prep? I'm pretty sure if you look down my throat you can see my shoes.

Now, for those of you of a certain age, and we know who we are, it's your turn. You can see how much fun Dave Barry and I had. Why not you? And it buys you at least one cheap blog post. It is not unmentionable. We all have a colon. They don't have to be whispered about. I mean, I'm not having a party for mine (or dressing up in costumes) but I am wearing a party hat about it's high functioning status. Nice to get an "A" on something.

And sorry, Scurra, no pictures of my intestinal maze. And for all the rest of you? You're welcome.

  1. So let me get this right...they expect adults? children? to crawl through the the colon? I don't want to know what kind of a prize you get when you come out the other end. At least they don't have them dropping into a big toilet at the end.
Oh yes, here is a high five for your test results. Can I get a woot woot for Robin. You rocked that colonoscopy.

  2. Glad you got an "A" Please tell me not everyone has to do that in some point of their life.

  3. AAAAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I hope they don't pipe smells into that colon. Actually, it might be kind of funny to see how "real" you could make it, and keep track of the more real it is, the less people would go through it, or the more? Forgive me, I am a sick and twisted soul. :-)

  4. Robynn, I've had mine...and am not due another one for 7 years...and I'm hoping that they have something different than Movie Prep by then....sigh.
Mama took "Go Litely"....and that is surely misnamed!
I'm glad you got a clean bill of health on your colon...and more than happy that you had a colonoscopy. They save lives...
Colon cancer is one cancer that is preventable if the cysts are found and removed early. (I know from experience in our family.)
    Smiles to you from Jackie

  5. I've got my hand raised high Robynn.......I know what the Red Date is for the FLEET...he looks so familiar. Had dates with him my first 3 kids or maybe it was the first 4. They were so wonderful at the hospital I had those first 4....the RED DATE is the "BOMB"...yes you heard me...the "BOMB"! The little red pill they gave Post PREGO Mommies before they would let them go home from the hospital. Ya know they just had to make sure you were functioning right before they would discharge you. And if you had a roommate that was due to go home with her newborn like you....you'd had better not taken your "BOMB" pill at the same time....because it travels through the colon mighty fast.
A+ how good it that..congrats girl!

  7. Hi Robynn
Glad your test results were all good.
I absolutely detest doctors and ahem... haven't been to one since Feb. 2006! Can I just say, touch wood, I have not had a sniffle all year or the flu or any other bug so I am generally in tip top good health.
But... I am booked in for 5th Feb for a poking and prodding session. I do have a questionable mole that needs checking out as well as the other womens business that needs attending to. Blecchh!
Why is it that you fret over a PAP smear for so long and it takes 30 seconds to be over and done! It does my head in!
Gus had a colonoscopy back in October so I can sympathise with the Movi-prep motions etc that you described! That Dave Barry thing is hilarious! He's all clear for another 2 years. Yay!

Anyhoo, here's to our good health in 2010 and beyond!

    Cheers - Joolz

  12. Before I made my leap into retirement I finally had one, and like I said, the prep was hideous but the actual experience wasn't bad at all. I'm glad you got the all clear, no pun intended... :-)

  17. Congrats on the A!

That is something I haven't done yet, and don't intend to do anytime soon.

My motto is: if it ain't broke, don't fix it! (Thankfully my colon is functioning optimally right now!)
