Goofballs Keep Me Sane

This guy on the left keeps me crackin’ up. That’s my Wild Man. (Blurry photo as I try to sneak up on them.)

image

The guy on the right keeps me crackin’ up. That’s his sidekick, Mr. Drama.

image

They have a ball together and could talk all the legs off a centipede. They could power a small country with jaw movement alone. They regularly injure one another in wrestling matches trying to establish who is dumb and who is dumber. Right now, it’s a tie.

image

They’re killin’ time here between performances in a production.

At least they weren’t killing each other.

The Wild Man has one wrist in a brace and an injured thumb on the other side after the smack down a few days ago.

Yep, it’s good to be fourteen, heavy on testosterone and energy, light on gray matter. Hopefully, this will balance out when he gets older.

Probably around 75.

Hilarious! What I wouldn't give to witness this exchange in person... I am sure its entertaining to watch! Have I mentioned what a handsome young man that wild man is? I'd say he bears a strong resemblance to his pretty momma! "... heavy on testosterone and energy, light on gray matter," such a great line!

Loved your gray matter line....so so true of that age bracket.
And I'm not sure if it really every balances out....experience speaking here having had 4 boys and they are supposedly all grown up now!!
Two handsome young guys that are going to melt the hearts of the girls one day if they haven't already with those cute smiles!

Hee hee! I dunno, my husband and my cousin gleefully beat on each other every time we get together. It's a guy thing. :-)

I still have a smile on my face from this post. It reminds me of my 15 year old grandson in action. Boys that age can be trying and testy, but in the light hearted moments they are pure joy to watch. And you are right - it doesn't change much - even as they age.

Yes, Robynn, WM is the spitting image of you. What a great series of pictures, and I especially love the last one, both for the evil look at the smile. They are a handful, I'm sure. And the gray matter line is vintage Robynn!!

How funny! As a retired educator this Ozarks farm chick says your right on the money. Heeeheeehe. Heavy on the testosterone and light on gray matter! They both look quite animated and fully entertaining.

As we say down here in the Missouri hills and hollers, ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day!!!

Seems like they have a lot of fun!

Boy howdy! Does that boy look like his Mama, or what?!? What a great set of photos, and it would be great to catch them at moments just like this in the years to come, wouldn't it?
The last one is a complete and total hoot, and it's got me grinning from ear to ear!
You're blessed, woman... BLESSED!

You guys are a crack up! I have to tell you, I think he resembles me somewhat but most people say he looks exACTly like his dad. You guys are good for me! Maybe I really AM his mother!

Oh how fun!! Great pics!! You must be a good sneaker-upper-on. They sure enjoy each other!

Hey, I'm still waiting on my just about 25 year old to get a better balance of testosterone and grey matter. Just sayin'. Some of the others might be approaching equilibrium, but I wouldn't swear to that under oath.

What a handsome fellow your Wild Man is...but then he looks a great deal like his pretty Mom... :0)

Ah! The joys of being young. You captured it so very well.

At my very advanced age it is delightful to see the promise of youth and know these young people will be taking my place someday.

Love these pictures and how perfectly you captured the 14 year old boy phase! And really just like every age your children hit, I'm sure they are precious, priceless, tons of fun and occasionally really annoying!

You are a fantastic photographer, Robynn...catching these two highly entertaining young men in action was no small feat!!! And your commentary is hilarious as usual!!! It is easy to see that the Wild Man has his mother's sense of humor!!!! Such a wonderful Mom! Such a fabulous family!!! Loved this little glimpse into your life!!! Love you! Janine XO

That is so fun--just seeing a couple teenagers having a good time together!

Your son looks just like you! What a good-looking young man! :-)

Bz said...

You know, in that last pic... yeah, the shape of your son's eyes, I see you a bit... but, from what I recall of a pic of your husband, I see a grizzly bear cub. It's in that pic, I see more of a young man ..if that makes any sense.
It's good to read stuff like this... then, perhaps, I might be better prepared ....on second thought ...Ha! HOW can one prepare!?!
:-)

Funny post! His sidekick looks like a hoot, too!

I had a friend that had two sons... she figured if you buried them around fourteen (puberty time) then dug them up about thirty they might, just might resemble a member of the human race.

Love you!
