Whatcha Been Chewin'?

Minky and JoJo would like to bring you today's update. It's a good thing, too. I'm still just a little spittin' mad at Blogger. It's better this morning but not fully fixed yet. (The dogs had to create this photo post backwards because nothing can be rearranged.) So I'm leaving now to assume my position on the fainting couch and sending this post to the dogs.

Hello!! MInky here, with news from my beautiful self. Look how the sun highlights my eyes in this remarkable photo. And do you see how I have my two front socks pulled up just perfectly so they match? I amaze myself. I am 8-months-old now and looking for ways to "go greeen" by composting the trash, recycling, and down-sizing. If I find it, I chew it.

Here's a small sampling of some recent work:

That red thing in the middle is actually supposed to be for dogs to chew on. Every time I chewed it, it got smaller and smaller. It’s kinda freakin’ me out. Pieces of it are showing up when I go outside to do my business. That’s not right. It seems to be following me.

(Oh my good grief. Could I BE any more bored? JoJo here. If you’ve been puttin’ off a root canal, now’s your moment. It might be more entertaining. Minky's probably gonna drag on and on about this piddlin’ life of hers and makin’ a big deal outta nuthin’. She’s never faced a bear or caught a cat by the tail. You know, the stuff REAL dogs do. I’ll just keep sittin’ here prayin' an anvil falls on my head.)

Anyway, look at these! These gloves are made out of Kevlar. My dad got some for work and they worked out great so, he got some for me, too. He thought we could wrestle and they would save him from my shark-like teeth. He was wrong. I found where he left the gloves and finished ‘em off.

Underneath that red thing below is my chipmunk. You might wanna look away if you’re squeamish. I pulled all of his guts out and I think those plastic things on either side might be his bowels. Yeah, I think I disemboweled him. When I bit down on him they made squeaky noises. I have that problem once in awhile with my digestive system. So does JoJo. Hers are loud which I think is AWESOME. It happens when she flops down on the floor.

Here’s me in mid-flight catchin’ the chimpmunk carcass. If you look right in the middle of that gray SUV behind me, you’ll see if heading right for my open jaws.

(You did NOT TELL THEM about my personal issues…..what a rat fink. You must work for the Enquirer. I have no dignity left.)

Well, I could be a professional journalist, I'm sure. And every good reporter needs a few pencils, some gum to work off the energy of waiting for that breaking story, and a comb to maintain a good appearance. That's why I hunted these up:

So then, in the spirit of journalism, let me ask you Madam JoJo, what have you been up to?

Well, finally a subject of interest to your readers. I haven’t been chewin’ stuff up all over the house like someone whose initials are Minky. I bark when I need to, like when people we know come over. And I generally maintain my happy-go-lucky attitude when you’re not buggin’ me, which leaves me precious little time for happy attitudes, I can tell you. But here's a shot of me in one of those rare moments:

Okay, well that’s enough about you. Now let’s get back to me.
Here’s another GREAT action shot of me on the fly. Check out that hang time and the air I got!

I look kind of chubby, but I'm not. I'm really just fluffy. My mom says she looks kind of fluffy, but she's not. She's just chubby.

So that's the latest from the home front right now. Happy tails to you from me and Happy Jo!!

  2. You two bicker like my George and Gracie!

George couldn't care less about playing with toys...But Gracie..she chews all her toys to pieces.
Luckily both of them are very good dogs, and they don't mess with anything that doesn't belong to them.

It was very nice seeing you both today. You should post more often!

  4. Love this post! Loved seeing the pups! ...and what senses of humor they have ...and those socks are perfectly matching! ...and those eyes in the sunlight! ...and the intelligent look on JoJo's face! Love those smart herding pups.
(did I say "love" too much?!? ...oh well, if it's about pups, you'll hear 'LOVE').

  5. You and your pets!!! I have not been right since your whole snake and rat thing ..... My 6YO had to do a diorama last weekend. He chose a boa constrictor- and for the food source he just had to have a rat I couldn't stop thinking about your post -it disturbed me immensely!

I loved this, dogs I can handle -snakes -not so much! Thanks for making me laugh!

  6. Have I told you two how much I love and admire your mom for raising and training such entertaining (yes, and protective, JoJo) young-'uns... I think it's wonderful how well you both tell your stories. You need to meet my SueSue and my Chloe. Maybe I can convince them to post one of these days. SueSue can tell you Minky about what happens after you it stickers...

  8. What good little doggie bloggers you are! You did a fantastic job, and I think you should be regulars.
Well, with all that eatin' of not eat-able things goin' on, I HOPE you're staying regular!
(here's a tip for you Minky. Do NOT eat the red bits of toys that follow you around. Nasty. REAL nasty!)

Tell your Mama that I love her, okay?
Now go roll on her stinky clothes.

  11. I am enjoying this coup in a major way. Are you sure you don't want to let the dogs run the blog for the summer?

I appreciate all of the hard work they have done - I hope they followed up with the gum chewing to make sure you could not smell the rest of the evidence on their breath :)

  12. I think I know why I never had 2 dogs at one time.

And just what WAS that furry black thing? A leftover merkin from your porn days? ;)

  18. Sounds so familiar. My girls (Patsy Cline and Lorreta Lynn) Patsy can't wait till we finally take that darn puppy back where it belongs (never happening) and Lorreta finaly quit chewing things to bits(unless it rains and then she has nothing else to do)

  20. I bet you two would love to come and play at my house. I have a big ol' bulldog, who is sometimes confused for a pig or a hippo. She insists on pulverizing all her dog toys, even the "indestructible" ones. And we always find evidence when it shoots out the other end and leaves a brightly colored pile on our lawn. She's also been known to make various intestinal noises and she can clear a room with the silent ones. You sweet doggies would all get along fine!

  21. Oh dear, just too funny for words! And even the comments are funny...I am getting a good chuckle of various ones names some have for their dogs...George & Gracie really like that combo!
Keep the wonderful light hearted postings coming...loving every word - even if the dogs had to step in and take your place today! See ya, when you get up off the fainting couch!!!!!

  22. Minky and Jo-Jo, your mama's humor must be rubbing off on you! Your post is as good as hers! I only found one problem--you should never call her chubby, OK? She's just fluffy and soft and she has a heart of gold. So don't go calling her anything else! Ya hear?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh that's soooooo funny, my fluffy friends! Were you playing frisbee with a chipmunk that nibbled your mum's ankles? How darn fast are you if you can catch one of those?!!!

  24. What a cute post! I had to laugh throughout the whole thing.

  25. You are the best!! Oh, I mean Minky and JoJo, the dynamic duo! Their hijinx never cease to amaze and entertain!!

Do you know my own Dakota Jo has not once chewed something up since she was a puppy? She found a blue stuffed animal at Grandma's house and has had it for 12 years now and it is looking a little bedraggled, but still its still intact!

Any my word veri is : tateris Hmmm... made me think of tatter :)

This was just too funny. My girls and I really enjoyed it.

That Minky, boy is she full of herself!

Congratulations on your daughters up coming Graduation tomorrow. I really don't know how I feel about being so close to the end of school with my son. Sometimes I am thrilled by it all ~ sometimes it makes me want to cry ((mostly)). Where does the time go?

I hope your blogger thing is working tomorrow...I can't wait to see the pictures of the Graduation! Congratulations again!

    Thank you for you encouragement!

  31. Hello, Minsky and Jo-Jo. You're great bloggers, and very photogenic! You might want to think about going through an intervention program, though; your choice of edibles seems to have become an addiction. :)

Please give my thanks to your pet mom for visiting my day lily post.

  32. I have just read the two rat posts! Very funny the first one! Glad I hadn't read that one before my kitchen roof alteration.
The second one I had already read & there is a comment on there by Me. Came over from Eddie Bluelights!
    Hilarious!
Thanks for getting back to me.

  35. Well, Jo Jo, I'm HAVIN' that root canal next week -- but not because of boredom. There's nothing boring about chomping down on a tooth and having it send you skyward.

In the meantime.... thanks for a good read!

  37. I saw your link at Bethrusso's and thought to take a peak. My dog has a thing for school supplies and wooden train sets. Sometimes his own things, but not much else. What a fun post!

  38. what a beautiful dog!! And I know what you mean, our dog, Oscar, is always getting into stuff. Just the other day I came downstairs and found all that remained of my new chapstick: the end of the tube. He had eaten everything, including the packaging that it was in. Unbelieveable!
