Meet the Dog Mother and Maker of the Cake!

Look at our Kaylee Bean! She is mother to "Molly," my four-legged fan and the baker extraordinaire of Bo's birthday cake! Just look at this beauty! And notice the cake, too, while you're at it.

There you go, Tatersmama. Someone in the vicinity of the cake had a brain, even if it wasn't me. :-)

  15. Thank you all for your kind comments to and about Kaylee. I wish I could showcase so many of the lovely young friends Bo has in her life. As they have moved toward womanhood, Kaylee and Bo have gotten to know each other in a different way and discovered fun commonalities. Certainly one of them is that they both love to bake and cook.

Daryl, someone MAY have licked the cake when we weren't looking (Molly, did you stop kissing me long enough to lick the cake?!) but I don't think so. I think what you're seeing is the draping of the frosting. I couldn't have created that in a million years. Mine is either stiff or in a puddle. Kaylee managed to get this soft draped look to her frosting that truly gave it the most beautiful vintage look. It was like folds of fine, lacy fabric. Kudos Kaylee! You made Bo feel very special with your care and talents! :)

  20. Thank you all for your kind comments. I was so excited to be able to be a part of celebrating Hannah's 18th with her. :-) I'm so glad that the cake that started out as a disaster ended up being a happy part of a happy birthday. (note: never make the mistake of using regular sugar instead of confectioners sugar to make frosting. It's embarrassing and doesn't work. :-p)

I love you Auntie Robb and Hannah!

  25. Hello! Thank you for the lovely visit. I would love to have a piece of that cake :-)
S&S, Mr Eddie and CMC are talented writers! I am very lucky have "met" those excellent writers! Whew! I must say, they are very nice to the girl from cherry blossom street :-)
I do find them very encouraging...

I am looking forward to getting to know another wonderful blogger... although I am pretty sure I have seen your name on the comment section on one of the bloggers I've mentioned.
    Have a wonderful night.

  26. OK, the outside is pretty, alright. But what's on the inside? I'm talking cake here.

And Kaylee? Well, she's absolutely gorgeous on the outside...and we can tell she's a gem on the inside! :-)

  27. Hi Robynn. Thank you for visiting my humble abode from your lofty castle in the literary heights. I am highly honoured to meet you at last, although I have admired your comments to Janine plus some admiring visits to your blog site. Another highly talented author I am pleased to meet. We Brits are a bit formal and conservative you know for we usually await introductions and I am very pleased we have met as co-recipients of Janine's highly coveted prize. I am honoured to be in such company and shall treasure my 1/5 part, now firmly nailed as a trophy in my side panel. I will visit you again, many times I feel now my inhibitions have been conquered. Trouble is I feel it is time for me to 'clone' myself so I can visit and digest all these gems of the pen. Nice to meet you. Eddie

What a GORGEOUS cake... and the cake baker is simply stunning!

Kaylee and Hannah Bo are just soooo beautiful that it kind of makes my heart hurt. *sniff*
Were WE ever that gorgeous, fresh-faced, outwardly confidant and talented at that age?

I think I'll retire to my room and put on some stretchy pants. And eat some chips.
